Card Gameology (I & II)

Cardgameology allows students to be immersed in play. Students will be exposed to Social and Emotional Learning (S.E.L.) concepts through play. Students learn to work as a team and have feelings associated with winning and losing. As a culminating activity, students will develop and design their own card game that can be used to play with friends or take home and play with family. Cardgameology reinforces teaching in Math and Language Arts and is heterogeneous to meet the needs of states that utilize (S.O.L.s, Common Core, Essential Standards, and more). In addition, it also incorporates S.E.L. and project-based learning.
Participants will embark on a creative journey to design their own card games, promoting fun and the creation of lasting memories. Once the games are finished, they can take them home to enjoy with family and friends, generating cherished experiences. To celebrate their creations, consider hosting a card game night at your recreation center or school. Cardgameology enhances learning in math and language arts while accommodating the diverse needs of various educational standards, including Common Core, S.O.L.s, S.E.L., project-based learning, and STEM.
